bits and pieces

These Cherilea are quite strange as I haven't really seen them before.I think they are swoppits
Replicants have brought out some nice pieces as regards famous people of Lewes

The last are all Hillco but although they are pretty boring you could do some good conversions here

BRITISH MARINES AT PEKING 1900

Above is a photo of the marines at peking during the Boxer uprising. The Boxers were patriots who wanted the foreign powers who were sucking the country dry to leave.

here are 25mm metal from Copplestone

here are the red Box series. Not great sculpts but good period feel.

I picked these up in an otherwise boring job lot. These are either French or Italian 54mm WW1. Nice pieces. Rare I think. Can you identify them?

STARLUX ACW

The Starlux company of France made a lot of ACw figures that to be honest never really worked.Static positions, boring and little detail. But they have become very collectable as they still have low prices and will rise in the future.re-painting them is an option if you don't want to re-sell them.

Some Ideas

Making guns in the right way takes ages but on the Crescent figure below I gave the Converted cowboy piece a colt in metal. Now I'm going to try and reproduce this gun in miniature .Its a French hand gun and was big at Magenta and in the ACW
Heres the converted Crescent Cowboy with th new gun/pistol/Colt

This figure could be made much better bu slicing the legs in two and then slightly elongating them as the figure seems too squat but hey there were short blokes as well!!! See earlier posts and those of my other blogs for a close up of the colt.A work of Art.It will be available as a replacement hand in the future

This is a Marx figure I believe and I'd really like to get hold of this to convert it into a French Officer at Solferino. Its the perfect stance. I'm on a research bend at the moment about the wars of Italian liberation.See my other blog

This Britain's figure could easily be made into the Sardinian Guards in the Italian wars of the Risorgimento.

FRENCH LINE INFANTRY at SOLFERINO

I was doing this French Line infantryman from Solferino and here is the piece up till now.Its unfinished . I plan to replace the bayonet with a proper metal one. Theres a lot more to do an the soldier I converted was not very good .It was a BMC pirate in the true Britains scale. My idea was to create line infantry in the Britains scale by getting this right then having it moulded into metal. The original model would e gone more or less so copyright was not or i not a prob I believe.I hate infringing copyright though. Has anyone got any ideas on the law on this? Anyway I'll let you know bout this one when I finish it.
